About "Two Steps"
Kevin O'Connell, storyteller, artifact seeker, primitive technologist and educator, began his study of the Lenape people over forty years ago. He was guided by his father, Dick O'Connell, who as a boy accompanied the late NJ historian, Mr. Charles Philhower, on many digs. At ten years of age, Kevin started searching for artifacts to add to the family collection. With each arrow head and spear tip he found, there was a desire to learn more about these early craftsmen.
Over twenty-five years ago, he began speaking at scouting engagements. As word of mouth spread, he received more invitations. To make his presentation more interesting, he began to add in some old legends.
Today this is a full time job and one he loves. Kevin has created
educational programs that are not only informative but very entertaining.
He has performed at schools, camps, festivals, powwows, gatherings and on television.
Kevin is a member of the Munsee Delaware Indian nation and Chaingarora Village under Chief Hunter Boyce.
